Accommodation

While our dive center Tarzan-Diving doesn't offer accommodation, you can stay in one of the surrounded affordable homestays. We fully support local owned homestays. To avoid competition with local families we decided not to dive with guest, who are staying at a locally owned homestay with their own dive center. If you would like to dive with us, please make sure there is no dive center at your homestay. We offer pick-up within 3 km, price: 100.000 IDR per person. If you prefer to stay further out, or in any other homestay than mentioned: please organize the pick-up on your own. Your homestay will help you organizing the transfer.   We are happy to assist with bookings at our two direct homestays: PAPUANI and  TAU YADO  Homestay. Both are located directly next to our dive center, offering very convenient access to diving. Please note that the homestays are independently owned and operated by local Papuan families. While we assist with communication and booking arrangements, the accommodation itself is fully managed by the homestay owners, who are responsible for all aspects of your stay. We will book you in but payments will be separately when you arrive. What to expect: Enjoy a basic room in a breathtaking natural setting. Meals are traditional Papuan food, and breakfast is often sweet. The local families are warm and welcoming. Please note that they do not speak English and have limited formal education or tourism training. We kindly ask guests to use Google Translate and write short, simple sentences when communicating. Clear and direct messages (for example: “I need a towel.”) are very helpful and support the local learning process. As this is a tropical island environment, there are rats on the island. Please do not store food in your room. A fridge is available in the kitchen where you can safely keep your food. If there is any misunderstanding or you need assistance, please visit the dive center at any time — we are happy to help.
